On 12 June 2026, I&F Training Centre in Rathfarnham, Dublin, hosted the Irish national dissemination event for the Erasmus+ co-funded project VETCompass, under the title “VETCompass: Empowering Irish VET Educators through Game-Based Assessment.”
The in-person session gathered 20 vocational education and training (VET) professionals from across the Dublin area. The group brought together a dynamic mix of Further Education and Training (FET) centre trainers, private training providers, school managers, curriculum developers, and project coordinators. All attendees shared a mutual interest in integrating digital competence evaluation tools into Ireland’s vocational landscape.
The event focused on sharing key project deliverables designed to assess and foster transversal skills among educators. Organisers introduced the comprehensive Competence Framework, the Toolbox Library, and the Implementation Roadmap. The centrepiece of the afternoon was an interactive walkthrough and hands-on testing session of the VETCompass Game-Based Assessment Tool, allowing participants to explore its features directly from a user’s perspective.
Attendees praised the practical and innovative approach of the initiative. As highlighted during the feedback session:
“The interactive nature of the tool makes it highly engaging for teachers to reflect on their own transversal competencies, proving that digital assessment instruments are vital for modern professional development in Ireland.”
This multiplier event marked a major milestone in promoting digital transversal skill development across Irish VET institutions. Moving forward, the stakeholder feedback gathered during the session will inform final reporting and support the wider adoption of the VETCompass framework and digital tool across FET centres nationwide.
