On 11 August 2026, the VETCompass national multiplier event in Germany took place at Wilhelmstr. 30, Berlin. The event was organised as part of the project’s national dissemination activities and brought together VET educators, trainers and representatives of the local education community. Participants were introduced to the main project results and discussed how these outputs can support professional development in vocational education and training.
The meeting opened with a short presentation of the project aims and the importance of transversal skills for VET teachers, trainers and staff. The discussion focused on digital, pedagogical and soft skills, and on the need to help VET professionals respond to changing learner needs and workplace demands. Participants were then introduced to the VETCompass assessment approach and the game-based assessment tool, which uses practical scenarios and role-playing situations to encourage reflection on professional responses. The presentation also showed how assessment results can guide targeted upskilling and help institutions make better use of professional development time.
The event also presented the Toolbox Library and the Roadmap for VET institutions. These results give institutions practical starting points for identifying skills needs, selecting suitable resources and planning staff development activities. A key takeaway from the event was that transversal skills should not be treated as an additional topic, but as part of everyday VET practice. The audience recognised the value of using VETCompass results to support reflection, communication, digital confidence and learner-centred teaching. The event concluded with an open discussion, participant feedback and networking.
Participants also completed evaluation forms, supporting the final quality assurance and reporting process. The outcomes of the German multiplier event will feed into the final dissemination and exploitation work and will help demonstrate how VETCompass results can be used by VET institutions in practice after the project ends. Feedback from the session will also support final reporting and future promotion of the project results.
