Empowering VET through Innovation: VETCompass LTTA in Padova, Italy

From 7 to 11 October 2024, the VETCompass partnership gathered in Padova, Italy for a dynamic Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA), hosted by ENAIP Veneto.
This important event brought together teachers, trainers, and education experts from across Europe to co-create one of the project’s central outputs: the VETCompass Transversal Skills Assessment Framework.

Over the course of five days, participants engaged in intensive workshops, collaborative group work, and strategic discussions. The programme was carefully designed to ensure that practitioners’ voices and expertise were at the heart of the framework’s development. Key activities included:

  • Defining and validating the core transversal skills essential for VET educators;

  • Developing specific indicators for the assessment of each skill;

  • Exploring methodologies and approaches for the gamified digital assessment tool that VETCompass is creating.

This bottom-up approach ensures that the framework is not only grounded in research but also shaped by the real-world experiences and needs of VET teachers. By actively involving practitioners in its construction, VETCompass is building a robust, relevant, and practical tool that will have lasting benefits for vocational education and training across Europe.

The LTTA also served to strengthen the spirit of collaboration among partners, facilitating the exchange of national perspectives, best practices, and innovative ideas. Through these interactions, the partnership reinforced its shared commitment to driving forward educational innovation and excellence in VET.

We would like to extend a special thank you to ENAIP Veneto for their excellent organisation and warm hospitality, and to all participants for their invaluable contributions, enthusiasm, and commitment.

With the LTTA completed, the consortium is now working to finalise and refine the VETCompass Transversal Skills Assessment Framework, paving the way for the next project milestones: the development and piloting of the game-based assessment tool.

Stay tuned for further updates as we continue advancing towards our shared goal of empowering VET educators with the transversal skills they need for the future!
