Introduction to the VETCompass project!

We are proud to announce the official launch of the VETCompass project, which began on 1st September 2023 under the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme (KA220-VET – Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training).

VETCompass brings together a dynamic consortium of partners from Germany, Italy, Greece, and Ireland, coordinated by the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB). Our common ambition is to strengthen the role of transversal competences in the professional development of VET (Vocational Education and Training) teachers, trainers, and staff across Europe.

Over the next 30 months, VETCompass will focus on designing innovative approaches to support educators in assessing and enhancing transversal skills such as communication, collaboration, digital literacy, adaptability, creativity, and learner-centred teaching. Recognising the changing demands placed on VET professionals, the project seeks to empower educators to respond effectively to evolving labour market needs and digital transformation challenges.

Key activities of the project will include:

  • Conducting European and national research on transversal competences and assessment mechanisms for VET educators;

  • Co-constructing a Transversal Skills Assessment Framework;

  • Developing a game-based digital assessment tool to facilitate self-evaluation and professional growth;

  • Creating a Toolbox Library and a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Roadmap to support long-term skills enhancement.

The VETCompass project is committed to collaboration, quality, and innovation. Our approach will combine research, practical experience from the field, and digital technology to deliver results that are usable, accessible, and adaptable across different VET systems.

We look forward to working closely with VET institutions, educators, and stakeholders across Europe to achieve these goals.
